Job Summary | Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute is pleased to invite applications for Adjunct, Lecturer, Sr. Lecturer, and Professor of Practice openings that may be available in several areas within the Lally School of Management. These appointments may be made for one to three years, and are renewable, contingent upon available funding, enrollment, satisfactory performance, and the business needs of the Lally School of Management. Adjunct appointments are made for a single semester and are renewable. This posting is meant to attract candidates who may be available to cover a temporary gap in the Schools's teaching roster. |
Minimum Qualifications | Candidates are expected to have a terminal degree in an area related to the subject matter of their teaching. Candidates must be able to provide evidence of effective teaching or instruction. An Adjunct classification is a non-tenured temporary academic appointment. Job Summary | The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or tenured Associate Professor position in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise and potential in the broad area of bulk/thin film metallic materials. Example research foci and applications include nanoelectronics device wiring, packaging and integration, energy generation (e.g., nuclear, thermoelectric, wind, solar) and storage (e.g., batteries, supercapacitors), light-weight high-strength structures, alloy design, microstructure development, additive manufacturing, and environmental degradation. We will also consider exceptional candidates from other related areas. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering or a related field. The successful candidate must also demonstrate the potential and zest to develop and maintain an internationally recognized funded research program, actively contribute to the core graduate and undergraduate teaching mission of the department and the school, and engage in department, institute, and professional service activities. Job Summary | The Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute seeks applications for a tenure-track (or tenured) faculty position at the Associate Professor level in Business Analytics/Supply Chain Management starting Fall 2024. Candidates must have a PhD degree from an accredited university in Analytics, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a closely related field, along with demonstrated evidence to produce original and innovative scholarly work with publications in premier business journals. The successful candidate will join the School either as a tenure-track assistant professor, or as an associate professor, based on teaching and research experience and success. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated potential and commitment to effective teaching in our graduate and undergraduate degree programs in supply chain and business analytics, as well as provide service to the School of Management and to Rensselaer. The position requires excellence in research in the area of supply chain and analytics, effective written communication skills, and strong technical skills in areas such as analytical modeling, data management, machine learning and computation. Demonstrated interest in emerging technologies including artificial intelligence and Blockchain and in topics relevant to global shifts in supply chains would be a plus. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to engage with and develop research initiatives aligned both within the Lally School and with the new strategic research initiatives at Rensselaer. The School provides an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment for inter-disciplinary scholarly contributions with support for research, teaching, and service. Appointment will be at the rank of Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, or Professor of Practice, with a multi-year, renewable contract. |
Minimum Qualifications | Applicants must possess an MFA, PhD, or foreign equivalent in Game Design, Digital Media, Computer Science, or a closely related field. Evidence of effective teaching, and the ability to demonstrate, through accomplishment, promise of academic, scholarly and/or research achievement. They will demonstrate proficiency in one or more game engines, along with a robust background in project management and production processes within the gaming industry. Additionally, candidates must exhibit a commitment to fostering a collaborative and inclusive learning environment. For appointment at the rank of Senior Lecturer, candidates must also have attained a significant level of scholarly activity, research output, or individual creative practice. A Professor of Practice has obtained unique professional experience, has distinguished research, and/or has performed at an executive or officer level, and has made a significant impact within the field of games. A Professor of Practice is expected to have substantial leadership experience of at least (10-15 years) and generally a national or international reputation for excellence in their field of expertise. Relevant combinations of education, training and experience may be considered. |
